93rd IIGS Sikh International Youth Camp concludes successfully!
With Waheguru ji's grace, IIGS organized the 93rd Sikh International Youth Camp in the beautiful San Bernardino mountains. Campers came from all over to be part of the camp. This 7-day retreat was an opportunity for all participants to rejuvenate their spirit, connect with the Shabad Guru, and make new friends.
A Day at the Camp started early with Naam Simran and Kirtan, followed by Path classes, Trekking, exercising, cabin cleaning before heading for learning sessions. 2nd half of the day included swimming, gatka, turban tying and play time among other things Every evening was the time to connect with Shabad Guru through Kirtan and learning and the day ended with some more fun activities before everyone retired for the day.
Remembering 9th wonderful Guru Sahib, Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji: This year happens to be the 350th Death Anniversary of the wonderful 9th Guru Maharaj, Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji. The IIGS team decided to dedicate this camp to learning about the 9th wonderful Guru Sahib. Generally, when people think of the 9th wonderful Guru Sahib, one only thinks of His shaheedi and the ‘Nauve Mahale de Salok’. However, there is so much more to learn, and this camp offered that opportunity to everyone present through Kirtan, talks, discussions, Saakhis, and more.
It behooves us to learn as much as possible, about all of our wonderful Gurus. A Sikh’s guidance comes from Gurbani and wonderful Gurus’ lives. They truly should be the role models of every Sikh.
As the camp came to an end, everyone bid farewell. Many campers promised to be back next year for another blissful experience.
