Help us bring the Ajit Cup, the first national Sikh moot court competition, to life. Spring 2027, Northern California.
Why we’re building this
When we sat down with Sikh students, every single one named the same pain: they felt they had to choose between a professional opportunity and their community. There were networking nights, but nothing that let them build real legal skills, stand next to people who’d already walked this path, and still feel at home.
Our community has extraordinary Sikh attorneys, judges, and advocates. What’s been missing is the room where they meet our students.
What the Ajit Cup is
Students team up in pairs and receive a legal question. They spend months researching and writing their brief, then argue their side live, two teams at a time, before a panel of Sikh legal professionals. The best brief and the best oral argument each earn recognition and a cash prize.
The win that lasts is bigger than the prize. Judges give their time and guidance in person. Each student can connect with a mentor who looks like them and has walked this path. Each student walks away with a whole community that is rooting for them.
Where your gift goes
The Ajit Cup is built by volunteers and funded by this community. We’re raising $20,000 to make spring 2027 possible. It covers cash prizes for the winning brief and oral argument, the venue, case materials and a training session so every team starts prepared, and registration waivers so no student with a financial need is turned away by the $50 fee.
