First, we would like to express our deep gratitude for your continued invaluable Seva. Your support has been critical in fulfilling SHDF's mission — empowering the neediest yet highly motivated and talented students across Punjab and neighboring areas to achieve their dreams through higher education, mentorship, and hope.
This year we received more than 3,100 eligible applications — a record — and finalized 1,700 scholarships for the 2025–26 academic year. More than 70% of this year's recipients are young women.
June closed out with a wonderful wave of scholarship distribution ceremonies across Punjab.
At Khalsa College, Garhshankar, 27 scholarship recipients gathered for a formal distribution ceremony that drew coverage from Ajit, one of Punjab's most widely read newspapers. Students received checks totaling ₹7.70 lakh, presented by college leadership alongside SHDF representatives, recognizing each student's academic dedication and the opportunity this support represents for their futures.
At Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Pharmacy in Chandigarh, college's administrative offices, followed by a warm gathering in the college gardens. Students posed with their signed scholarship acknowledgment forms alongside Principal Mrs. Ravneet Kaur, Col. Jasmer Singh, Sardar Gurdev Singh, and SHDF representatives Gurbir Singh, Prabhleen Kaur, and Sardar Karandeep Singh. The college displayed a hand-lettered banner reading, "Thank you, Sikh Human Development Foundation, for giving wings to our dreams" — a phrase that captures the spirit of the day.
And on June 26, 50 students at Sikh National College in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district received their scholarship awards, in a ceremony that brought together college leadership, SES representatives, and SHDF partners. Each recipient came forward individually to receive their check and certificate, a moment of recognition for their hard work and achievement.
During his recent visit to India, SHDF Chairman Dr. Manmohan Singh Kumar met one-on-one with many of our scholarship recipients and held productive meetings with the Vice Chancellors of Punjab University and Guru Nanak Dev University. We are also pleased to share that our new Alumni Portal is now live, with over 500 scholars already using it to connect and share their journeys.
We humbly request your continued generous support for education — an investment that transforms the lives of thousands of young women and men, their families, and their communities for generations to come.
Give the gift of education.
