Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
I wanted to share a short update on SikhNet Stories in Punjabi and say thank you for the support that has helped us reach this point.
SikhNet has long been a trusted space for sharing Sikh stories and values with families around the world. Over the past few years, we have been intentionally expanding our animated stories and rhymes into Punjabi. This step felt necessary. While English content reaches many families, it was leaving out a large part of our global sangat, including children in non Western countries and Sikh families who want their children to grow up hearing Sikhi in their maa boli.
We are now seeing something very special happen. Western born Sikh children are showing a real interest in learning Punjabi, and viewership is growing in regions like India and Southeast Asia where language was once a barrier. This fundraiser is about building on that momentum and making Punjabi storytelling a permanent part of SikhNet.
I am happy to share that we have published Guru Ladho Re in Punjabi, and the response has been very encouraging. Families have shared how meaningful it feels to hear these stories in the language of the Guru. Our hope is to release Punjabi versions alongside English stories going forward, so children can access the same sakhi in both languages.
Creating Punjabi versions takes additional care and resources. Each story requires accurate and respectful translation into Punjabi, voice recording by fluent Punjabi speakers, careful audio editing, and re rendering the animation so the timing matches the Punjabi narration. This process ensures the language feels natural, clear, and worthy of the message being shared.
Your continued support helps make this possible and allows us to keep Punjabi alive in the hearts and voices of our children. If you have ideas, feedback, or would like to share how these stories are being used in your homes or communities, I would love to hear from you.
With gratitude,
Simranjot Kaur
