A month ago, we began a gradual rollout of Sundar Gutka Audio, and we've been overwhelmed by the love, encouragement, and feedback from sangat around the world.
The release included audio playback for Nitnem Banis, with recitations from Bhai Jarnail Singh Ji, Bibi Indermohan Kaur Ji, and Giani Gurdev Singh Ji along with Speed Controls, Auto Play, Sync Scroll, and a Request Audio feature, so sangat can suggest Banis or Sevadaars they'd like added next.
We chose a gradual rollout rather than shipping to everyone at once, so we could learn from real user feedback before the update reached the full community.
Over the past several weeks, that feedback has shaped our work: refining the experience, fixing issues, and building the features you asked for most. Today we're excited to share everything that's changed since.
📖 A Better Reading Experience - Now Live
Based on your feedback, we've made the reading experience cleaner and more distraction-free.
Hide the Navigation Bar
The bottom navigation bar no longer takes up valuable reading space. Simply tap anywhere on the screen or scroll down/up to hide or reveal it whenever you need, giving you a distraction-free reading experience.
Download Audio for Offline Listening
Soon you'll be able to download Banis directly to your device and listen anytime, even without an internet connection.
We're also adding a dedicated Manage Downloads section where you can:
New Onboarding Experience
We're introducing a guided onboarding experience for new users to help them discover everything Sundar Gutka Audio has to offer.
If you skip the tutorial accidently, you can revisit the onboarding tour anytime from Settings.
Floating Audio Player
We're also redesigning the audio controls into a floating player that stays out of the way while you read. You can move it anywhere on the screen and continue controlling playback without the player covering Gurbani, making it easier to listen and follow along naturally.
