Guru Nanak’s message of Oneness, equality, compassion and inner transformation is universal. Yet much of this wisdom remains unfamiliar to people outside the Sikh community. So many people do not even know who Sikhs are, let alone know what it is we believe.
For over a decade Nanak Naam has shared free videos, courses and talks that have reached millions of people world-wide. We believe Gurbani and Gurmat have the power to positively impact people from all walks of life, not just Sikhs.
Through our Taking Gurmat Global initiative, we are now deliberately expanding that reach, intentionally taking Guru Nanak’s timeless wisdom into mainstream conversations through international podcasts, keynote speaking engagements, television, radio, newspapers, magazines and other media outlets.
Our Progress So Far
We have already begun building these connections and creating opportunities to share Gurmat on an international stage.
In 2025, Satpal Singh attended the DragonFly Summit in Bangkok, where he was the only Sikh speaker on stage; speaking to an audience of over 2,000 non Sikhs, sharing insights into Sikh spirituality and the universal nature of Ik OnKar / Oneness.
Satpal in 2026 travelled to New York, to speak on multiple podcast platforms and engage with audiences not necessarily in the Sikh space.
Then in the fall of 2026, Nanak Naam released its poetic English translation of JapJi Sahib, making one of Guru Nanak's most important compositions accessible to English-speaking audiences. The release has received incredibly encouraging feedback, including from people who have recited or read JapJi Sahib for their entire life, never knowing Guru Nanak's meaning to these sacred verses.
The Poetic translation of JapJi Sahib has attracted media attention with articles appearing in Zee News and DNA India (link below)

These are important steps towards a much larger vision. With continued investment in outreach, we want to build on this momentum and introduce Gurmat to increasingly diverse audiences around the world.
Why we need your support
Doors are opening, but outreach at this scale takes sustained funding. Right now we rely on a professional PR company and some of our marketing team’s time.
To go further, we need to:
- Keep a professional PR presence enabling us to secure podcasts, TV, radio and print opportunities
- Build relationships with speaker agencies so Satpal is booked for keynotes and mainstream events
- While Satpal is based in the UK, we need to send Satpal abroad to speak at these opportunties, which means international travel, transport and accommodation
