We are proud to announce our intro to SikhLEAD 2025 Summer Internship Program, running from June 7 - Aug 9, 2025! Our theme this year is “Seva Satisf-ACTION: Seva in Action”. This is a milestone year for us: with 10 years of SikhLEAD Regional, 14 years of SikhLEAD DC, just shy of 30 years of SALDEF providing service! As such, we thank you for helping in our success!
Our Summer Programming has been planned and is ready to execute! Some of our new Programming includes:
The History of Seva and reflections on the type of Seva we do outside of the Gurdwara
American Psychology Foundation Fellows to collaborate with SikhLEAD team on an art project related to how Seva impacts Mental health
Sangat Sevadaars (Sikh professionals to share the type of Seva they do)
SALDEF Seva Panel - non-profits to discuss the impact of their work.
We will continue our partnership with the Sikh Health Network (SHN) on starting new Seva Clinic locations. We are proud to share that these efforts will now be led by a SikhLEAD Regional Alumni and SHN board member, Khushi Pannu, who is now SALDEF’s Part-time Program Associate. The states that we are focusing on for this year’s Clinics include: CA, NC, and WI. In addition to the Seva Clinics, our second and brand-new Seva Project this year is the Career Workshops, in which SikhLEADers will organize Career workshops of their field of choice at their local Gurdwaras and host Sikh College students and Sikh professionals in that field to share their advice, answer questions, and provide educational resources to the Sangat. These workshops will be facilitated at Gurdwaras in CA, PA, CT, MA and NY.
We have welcomed our brand new SikhLEAD DC and Regional cohort of 80+ candidates who are currently in the Internship placements phase. The SikhLEADers are in the process of getting placed in prestigious and valuable Internships in D.C their local federal offices, and with a plethora of various fields with partner organizations. Through reaching out to Internship coordinators, writing letters of recommendation, and editing cover letters and resumes, the Programs team has made significant strides in building new host internship relationships and diversifying where our cohort is placed.

DC summer programming includes prominent speakers, such as lawyer Harmann Singh, Virginia Civic Engagement Table Executive Director and former SALDEF Policy Director Navdeep Singh, and entrepreneurs Parminder Singh Sethi and Rubin Paul.
