What does it take to change the odds for a girl from a government school in Punjab who wants a career in science? On April 18, we found the answer : a room where the District administrators, University chancellors, Professors, IIT researchers, a national award-winning teacher, corporate leaders, and the girls themselves, identified bottlenecks and built solutions.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude for making STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Conclave 2026 a truly transformative experience. The day was filled with engaging STEM projects on display, inspiring leadership addresses, moderated focused-group discussions working on specific problem statements, STEM Role Modelling sessions and an immersive Tech Fest tour for the students.

Voices from the day:
"The art of curiosity is central to science. Students need guidance, awareness of career pathways, and access, only then will they begin to see science as a real and viable option."
-Dr. Parvinder Maini, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India.
"Science was not a deliberate choice for me but I always asked myself, why am I doing what I am doing? That question led me to science, and to so much more."
-Dr. Jaswinder Singh, National Award-winning science teacher from Patiala.
"Classroom environments often push students away from science rather than drawing them in. Real learning, for me, began when I had to explore and understand concepts on my own."
- Prof. Arvind, Former Vice Chancellor of Punjabi University.
"Our mission is to advance gender equity in the world of technology, because the jobs of the future are deeply rooted in STEM."
- Ms. Sarika Rastogi, AVP from Genpact.
This Collective has already been underway for six months, with initial assessments and exposure visits completed. We are in it for the long haul and if we commit to doing whatever it takes, we can help these girls become beacons of hope for their communities. What was most encouraging was the tangible commitment from all stakeholders. If we can build a model that works here, it can work anywhere- and that is our goal.

If you would like to contribute your time or skills to the STEM collective project, we warmly invite you to be a part of the mission. Click Here and we'll get in touch with you.
