A New Ray of Hope for Two Elderly Brothers
A distressing incident was reported from village Hardaspura, where Khushwinder Singh, son of Sukhmander Singh, had allegedly locked his father, Sukhmander Singh (aged 67 years), and his uncle, Sukhchain Singh (aged 75 years), inside their home for a minimum of three days, depriving them of food. Khushwinder Singh, who is reportedly drug-addicted and mentally unstable, also beat both elderly brothers mercilessly, leaving them in a very poor and weakened condition.
Upon noticing the situation, the village panchayat immediately contacted the emergency helpline 112, and the local police and Prabh Aasra team were informed for assistance, where the police and Prabh Aasra rescue team members reached the location, Khushwinder Singh being mentally distressed refused to open the door and started shouting aggressively. The police were compelled to break open the door and window to gain entry into the house.
Both elderly men were found in a critical state, weak, hungry, and in unhygienic conditions. After their rescue, Khushwinder Singh fled from the spot.
Considering their deteriorated physical and mental condition, both victims were safely admitted to the Prabh Aasra, Pherurain branch by local police authorities, where they are now receiving proper care, nourishment, and medical treatment under supervision.

An old lady named Naresh Rani was found wandering helplessly near the Prabh Aasra Padiala premises. Around 6:45 PM, a passerby informed the security guard that she had been abandoned on the road by someone on an Activa scooter.
The guard immediately alerted the team, and she was gently brought inside. After completing all medical checks and documentation, Naresh Rani was admitted to Prabh Aasra for her safety, care, and treatment.
From being left alone on the road to finding a safe shelter, Naresh Rani’s story reflects hope, compassion, and humanity.

Mr. Jaspal Singh, aged 83, was found weak and unclaimed near Kurali. A resident of village Seh, Tehsil Samrala, Ludhiana, he shared that he is unmarried and has been abandoned by his brothers due to financial hardship.
After confirming the situation with the village Sarpanch, it came to light that his brothers had taken his land and left him without support, refusing even to tolerate his presence.
Seeing his frail condition, our team immediately arranged medical care and evaluation. A report was lodged with police. He was then admitted to Prabh Aasra for treatment, shelter, and rehabilitation — to ensure he receives the care, respect, and dignity he deserves.

At Prabh Aasra, we stand beside those who have been forgotten — the elderly, the homeless, the abandoned, and the vulnerable.
