Almost Ready to Roll: Help Us Launch Our Mobile Mental Health Unit
We’re Driving Hope Forward — Support Our Mobile Mental Health Unit 🚐🩺
We are excited to share that 60% of the work on our Mobile Mental Health Unit has been successfully completed, and the fabrication phase is now in progress. This specially designed vehicle will serve as a lifeline for individuals in remote and underserved areas, delivering essential mental health care directly to their doorsteps.
The interior setup now includes:
✅ A Mini Pharmacy
✅ A Basic Laboratory
✅ A Doctor Consultation Room
✅ A Small Emergency Care Room
Following the fabrication, the next phase will involve equipping the unit with vital medical instruments, machines and medications required for the lab, pharmacy, and emergency room.
You can also become a part of this regular free camp mission — by supporting us financially or through in-kind donations of medical equipment and supplies. Every contribution brings us closer to launching this unit and reaching those who need us the most.

A Step Toward Inclusive Education – Prabh Aasra’s Upcoming Special School Project
With GOD’s blessings and generous support, Prabh Aasra has acquired land for a visionary Special School dedicated to children and adults with diverse disabilities. The planned campus will include special education, B.Ed. training, skill development, therapy wings, indoor sports complex, coaches and special athletes training halls, hostel, library, health and counseling wards, and a center to train basic health workers and social workers in special education.
Architectural planning is underway, and we now seek support to begin construction. 🙏 Help us lay the foundation for a future where every special child receives the care, education, and dignity they deserve.
Smiles, Spirit & Success: Special Olympics Bharat is organizing the National Championships 2025–26 as part of the preparation for the Special Olympics World Summer Games 2027, to be held in Chile-USA. Children from Prabh Aasra Unified Family actively participated in these championships after being selected from state-level trials. A total of 28 athletes from Prabh Aasra were selected to compete in the national championships across various sports. These athletes have started to deliver outstanding performances, with several National Championships still ongoing.
Notably, at the National Badminton Championship (15–19 June 2025, Gandhinagar, Gujrat), Soni won Gold and Parveen secured Silver, proudly representing Prabh Aasra.
At the National Volleyball Championship, Ramo Devi and Sanjana won silver in the Female category for Punjab, while Ninder Singh secured bronze in the Male category at the same venue.
At the National Table Tennis Championship held from 14 to 18 July 2025 in Sec-23, Chandigarh, our athletes delivered remarkable performances and won different medals:

On 21st June 2025, Prabh Aasra celebrated International Yoga Day with an energizing morning session led by Bibi Rajinder Kaur Ji and the athletics sports coach. Children and staff actively participated in yoga asanas and breathing exercises, promoting physical health and mental well-being. The event encouraged everyone to embrace yoga as a part of daily life for a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.
Mental Health Awareness Event – 28th May 2025
On May 28, 2025, Prabh Aasra organized a Mental Health Awareness Program to mark Mental Health Awareness Month as usual. The event featured renowned artist Gurpreet Guggi, who shared insights on mental wellness, and a live Q&A with Dr. Nitin Sethi (Psychiatrist) and S. Shamsher Singh (Founder, Prabh Aasra), joined by global participants via Google Meet.
The event included powerful performances by students and motivating choreography by the children of Prabh Aasra. Dignitaries, social workers, and farmer organizations actively participated, making it a memorable and impactful event promoting mental health awareness.
Saathi Meeting:A meeting on the Saathi initiative was held at the Mohali Court Complex, chaired by the Chief Judicial Magistrate, to discuss Aadhaar registration for destitute minors under the government-mandated program. Representing Prabh Aasra were Rajinder Kaur Dhindsa (Member) and Gurpreet Kaur, aiming to aware them the problems being faced at ground level and to streamline ID card issuance.

On 4th–5th June 2025, Prabh Aasra’s children joined a vibrant summer camp at Brahma Kumaris Rajyoga Bhawan, Chandigarh. With activities like Yoga, Art & Craft, and games, the camp fostered joy, creativity, and wellness. Impressed by their spirit, the organizers gifted a bicycle—making the experience even more memorable and heartwarming.

🏆 National Championship Training Camp | 06–09 June 2025
👫 Hosted by Prabh Aasra for inclusive sports, bringing together children and youth with and without intellectual disabilities
From June 6–9, 2025, Prabh Aasra organized a dynamic multi-sport training camp 🏕️ for above said athletes from various districts. The camp featured expert-led sessions in ⚽ Football, 🏀 Basketball, 🎾 Lawn Tennis, 🏓 Table Tennis, and 🥎 Bocce.
Each day began with energizing warm-ups 💪 led by Gurbinder Singh Romi, followed by focused training by top coaches:

🎨🐦 Bird House Painting Activity | 08th June 2025
A fun-filled Bird House Painting Activity was organized at Prabh Aasra by Poonam Ji from Sector 43-B, Chandigarh. 🖌️🌈 Children joyfully painted wooden bird houses with vibrant designs, then hung them on trees 🌳 and filled them with seeds for their feathered friends 🐤.
The activity sparked creativity, compassion, and environmental care 💚. The children’s efforts were appreciated with love and applause 👏, making it a heartwarming and meaningful experience for all!

On 26th June 2025, guided by Bibi Rajinder Kaur Ji, Prabh Aasra’s children visited Shri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar, immersing in divine peace and Sikh values of Seva, Simran, and Equality. 🕊️ They also explored historic Gurudwaras, deepening their spiritual, historical and cultural understanding—a truly uplifting and memorable day.

On 15th July 2025. , S. Shamsher Singh, the Founder and Mukh Sewadar of Prabh Aasra (Home for the Helpless), has been honoured with the esteemed CSR Times Award 2025 at the 12th National CSR Summit held at Le Meridien, Delhi. This award was presented in recognition of the remarkable impact and dedicated efforts made through our initiatives aimed at uplifting the underprivileged and differently-abled sections of society.
