June 4, 2026 (Nationwide) — A horrific act of murder in the United Kingdom, coupled with the political environment in the United States and increasing fear mongering from right wing commentators, have raised real concerns among sangat about our right to wear the kirpan in this country.
Accordingly, on June 6 at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET, join the Sikh Coalition for a Panthic Webinar focused on kirpan rights. This virtual event is free to attend, but registration is required: click here to reserve your spot today.
During the 1.5 hour program, attendees can expect to learn:
The U.S. legal system’s view of the kirpan as an article of faith, rather than as a weapon or a symbol;
How U.S. law protects the kirpan in public and private settings;
How to request an accommodation in a school, workplace, or public building;
How to respond to hard questions, including the abhorrent 2026 UK case; and
How to reach the Sikh Coalition the moment you need support.
This virtual event is open to all sangat members, including Amritdhari Sikhs, parents of Sikh students, gurdwara committees and sevadaars, attorneys, and educators—in essence, any member of the Sikh community who wants to be prepared for difficult conversations that may arise. Please note that press will not be permitted, and no recordings will be made. Register here, and share the link with your friends and family so they can join too.
As always, the Sikh Coalition urges you to practice your faith fearlessly.
